This is our storyboard illustrating what we intend to do for each scene and how we are filming it.

Facebook group of actors

We have made a facebook group that includes all the actors of our video so we can organise when we are filming, what time and where at.

The performance element

I have looked at a range of Indie music videos to give me inspiration on where to film the performance element of my music video.

In this music video the performance element is videoed on a stage. This is an redundant location as many indie bands perform on a stage for their music video. I decided this was a possible option for my music video, because it would give our video a sense of redundancy and would suit our young audience as they expect this type of location for a band to perform. A possible location is the Drama studio, which has a stage for the band to perform. Here is a picture of the stage and people on it to give an idea of how it would look like in the video:

However, this location is not available on many days, which could potentially put us behind on schedule.

Also, by looking at other similar music videos, we have noticed bands perform in places they are comfortable or have a sense of old style band to it, such as a garage or an attic. This is a redundant idea, because bands commonly perform in these places to create a sense of them being a band that practice together in a house when they were younger.

I think this place has a relaxed atmosphere, which connotes a sense of Indie and I think it will suit our song well, because it is a old looking place which creates a sense of old school. It is also available at all times and so we can organise a time around when our band is free.

We have also decided, by looking at other similar music videos and listening to our music, to switch from narrative and performance constantly and more quickly when the beat is faster. This was inspired by Goodwin's theory that the music matches the beat of the song and also music videos, such as Franz ferdinand- Micheal.

Locations and health and safety

We wrote letters to the local pub and costa coffee to ask permission to film there. This was successful as they both agreed and signed the paper.

Costumes and props

This image creates a sense of Indie, due to the vintage style of clothing and it also suggests a sense of closeness between the girls. This is how I want the girls in our video to be presented and viewed. I will achieve this by having them wearing similar outfits in a winter version and to laugh together during the video.

This is how we would like our band to be presented in terms of style and looks. We are having our band wearing jeans, trainers (or converse) and a casual t-shirt or shirt. This will create a sense on Indie as it is relaxed and what you would expect an indie band to be wearing.

• The use of musical instruments give a redundant element to the music video as they are commonly used in music videos, especially indie music that involves a lot of musical instruments. 
• The use of a laptop and alcohol will attract the young target audience as they are familiar with technology and drinking is a common hobby for young people. 
• The use of face paint will illustrate the strangeness of the man better and will also create a sense of interest. 
• The use of flowers illustrate it is a love story. This is a redundant factor of the video, because it is common for music videos to be based around love and relationships. 

The final pitch

The Pitch on Prezi

We adapted our pitch after looking at the feedback given by our classmates. We changed our story slightly to have more of a story line and less based on a comical element, because humor is subjective. The story line was inspired by the music videos shown on the pitch and the movie "monsters inc".We followed suggestions made by our peers. 

Potential actors

Vitor- (Main male actor) He is a good potential male character because he is willing to allow us to paint his face, he lives nearby and he is easy to contact. He is tall, which is what we imagined the main male character to be and he dresses casually so there is no need to buy new clothes for the video. He also has a big personality so wouldn't mind doing funny dances and acting strange.

Jake- (bassist) He is a good choice to be in the performance part of the video because he plays the bass so he will be able to play the music right and we will be able to use his bass. He lives nearby and has a lot of free time. He also has a big personality, which is needed to make the performance element comical and lively. He also can learn songs fairly quickly, so we don't have to wait long for us to be able to film.

Esther (friend)- She is a good choice to use in the narrative part of the music video because she has a lot of free time, which means her timetable is easy to work around. She is also a good choice as one of the friends of the main character because she has the relaxed/indie style that the friends must be dressed in.

Chris (singer)- He would be a good choice in the performance part of the music video because he has most days free, so we can work around his timetable easily. He also dresses casually/indie which is the genre of the song.

Sophie (main girl actor)- I would be a good choice for the main girl character because it is my own project, so I will have the motivation to make time for it and I also am comfortable with the main male actor (Vitor) so I will be able to act better for the role. I also have a range of different clothes to go with the genre of the music (indie)

Elliot (guitarist)- Elliot would be a good potential guitarist for the performance part of the video because he is in our media group so he understands the project thoroughly and he is in Ludlow a lot, which means we can use that time to film. He also has the motivation to do well in the video because I am the singer in his video. He also has a similar style to the rest of the potential band members, so they will look right together. He can also play the guitar very well so he can learn the song quite quickly.

Alice (friend)- Alice would be good for the narration part of the video because this is also her project so she will feel motivated to perform well and make time to film. She also has a similar style to the rest of the actors and will also be able to film some parts of the video when she is not in it. She is also a very happy person, which is how she needs to act in the video.

Sophie (friend)- She would be a good option as a potential actor because she understands the project and has a similar style to the other actors. She also will not be needed much in the video, so we won't have to take up much of her busy timetable. She is also very giggly which is how we want the friends to be presented.
