Red hot chili peppers
The front cover of this digipak is very simple and only includes an image of a fly on a pill. This is an odd image and so the focus on it may create a sense of brand identity. The red hot chili peppers are a popular band and so people can clearly identify the band from this image. However, less popular bands cannot risk this and ensures they create brand identity through the font of the band name etc. Digipaks are usually used instead of simple plastic CD's when the album is a special edition album.
The inside also follows the simple plain colour white and only includes the name of the album and band. The font is simple and so there are no distraction of what the name of the album or band is which in itself may create a brand identity and focus the audiences attention on this information. The back also is white and shows little information. The songs, barcode and a paragraph of information is shown. Again the main focus is on the information shown. This is not typical of indie bands but perhaps digipak editions may have a sense of differentiation and may want to focus on certain things like the image to make the album memorable.
